YOUR PRODUCTION LINE RUNS ON ADHESIVE THAT MACHINES CLEAN

In product assembly, the adhesive holds the finished product together through load, vibration, and years of use. So, when the wrong one is on your line, you feel it everywhere: sometimes a foam layer separates, a door panel peels up during shipping, or hot melt strings and builds up until your crew is cleaning more than running.

Those are signs that your adhesive is letting you down.

Capital gives you an adhesive matched to your substrates and line so that you get a lasting bond that won’t let you down. By dialing in set time and viscosity for your equipment, you prevent pop-opens and stringing, keeping your line clean and eliminating downtime.

With the right adhesive, your operators need only set the line once for batch consistency, rather than constantly tweaking temperatures and pressures.

If you’re ready to swap the headache for an adhesive that just works, talk to an expert today.

COMMON CHALLENGES

MOST ADHESIVE PROBLEMS IN ASSEMBLY COME BACK TO THE SAME
ROOT CAUSE

Across product assembly, adhesive problems tend to show up in the same ways, and most of them trace back to a product that was never matched to the job.

PARTS POP OPEN ON THE LINE

When an adhesive cannot hold the load, a foam layer separates or a joint lets go, and a high-value unit needs reworked or becomes scrap. A Capital adhesive matched to your substrates builds a bond that holds the first time, so parts stay together, and the line keeps its pace.

HOT MELT STRINGS, CHARS, AND CLOGS

Stringing, char, and buildup foul your nozzles, filters, and applicator heads until the crew is stopping to clean instead of running. This traces to a product mismatched to the job or an adhesive that isn’t as char resistant as it should be. Formulated by Capital to run clean at your operating temperature, the right adhesive keeps heads clear and the line moving.

EVERY BATCH RUNS A LITTLE DIFFERENT

When adhesive performance drifts from lot to lot, your operators tweak temperatures and guess at settings to keep the line moving, which burns time and leaves quality riding on whoever runs that shift. Because Capital manufactures every batch to tight, ISO-certified tolerances, the adhesive runs the same today as it did last month, no tweaking necessary.
Our low-VOC water-based and low-odor hot melt formulations clear the air in the plant and leave the finished product ready for the end customer without a solvent profile.

BONDS THAT FAIL AFTER THE BUILD

In assembly, the bond has to survive load, vibration, and temperature swings for the life of the product, long after it’s produced. An adhesive that looks fine on the line but gives out in the field turns into returns and warranty claims. Capital tests durability against your real conditions, so the bond holds where it counts.

ODOR AND FUMES ON THE FLOOR

In air filter and foam assembly, a high-odor or high-VOC adhesive raises worker-safety questions and can put end-product compliance at risk. Capital's low-odor and low-VOC formulations for this work let you keep the line moving and protect air quality inside your plant.

ADHESIVES MATCHED TO THE PRODUCTS
YOU BUILD

Capital formulates adhesives for the core applications across product assembly, each matched to the substrates, speeds, and equipment your line runs.

THE RIGHT CHEMISTRY FOR HOW YOUR
PRODUCT IS BUILT

Hot Melt Adhesives

Hot melt adhesives set fast and bond foam, wood, plastics, and metal, the workhorse for structural assembly. Formulated to run clean without buildup.

Water-Based Adhesives

Water-based adhesives give strong, lay-flat bonds on porous substrates where a clean, durable hold matters more than fast set, ideal for wood, paperboard, and nonwovenjobs.

Custom Formulations

When an off-the-shelf product cannot match your substrates, speeds, and conditions, we bench-test and build one that can, because most assembly problems trace back to the wrong product.

EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST

Capital has been developing adhesive technology since 1987. We’ve learned a few lessons along the way and are glad to be a resource for our customers.

NO MIDDLEMAN

We manufacture our adhesives in the Midwest, and ship direct to you. We believe your operation is too valuable to go through distribution.

CONSISTENT, ISO-CERTIFIED QUALITY

Every batch meets spec, runs the same, and stays clean through the line, so your operators don't need to tweak settings or troubleshoot mid-shift.

RESPONSIVE, FIELD-TESTED SUPPORT

When something breaks, we're there. You get fast answers and real support from people who know your machines and resolve issues quickly.

CUSTOM FORMULATIONS

We don't guess. We match adhesives to your substrates, machines, and conditions to get a product that runs right the first time, every time.

SHORT, RELIABLE LEAD TIMES

Products ship from our Midwest plant on time every time. No delays. No scrambling. Just predictable orders that keep your production on schedule.

With formulas designed to run clean on your machines, you skip trial-and-error, avoid jams, and get bonds that hold, no matter what.

PRODUCT ASSEMBLY FAQS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GET IN TOUCH

What adhesives are used in product assembly?

Product assembly runs mostly on hot melt adhesives, reactive adhesives, and water-based adhesives for porous substrate jobs. Hot melts bond foam, wood, plastics, and metal fast enough to hold on the line, while water-based options give lay-flat bonds on fiber and board. The right one depends on your substrates and speeds.

How do I know if my adhesive is the problem?

If you are seeing pop-opens, stringing, char, or buildup, or your operators keep tweaking settings to keep the line running, the adhesive is usually the cause, not your equipment or your crew. A product matched to your substrates and line speed removes most of that firefighting.

What is the difference between hot melt and water-based for assembly?

Hot melt adhesives are dispensed in a molten form and sets fast by cooling.  Hot melts bond a wide range of substrates, which makes it the workhorse for structural assembly. Water-based adhesives set slower since they need to dry but give strong, dependable mechanical bonds on porous materials.

How long does it take to get a sample?

Samples typically ship in 3 days from our Midwest plant. Because we test against your materials first, the sample you receive is matched to your application, so you can trial it on your line with confidence rather than starting from a generic spec.

Do you test adhesives on my substrates before I commit?

Yes. Our in-house lab runs your actual substrates through bond, tack, and peel testing before you place an order. We love a good challenge!  Testing on the front end takes the guesswork out of switching.

Will a new adhesive hold up under load and vibration?

A properly matched assembly adhesive is formulated to survive continuous load, vibration, and temperature swings for the life of the product.  We test durability against your conditions, not just initial tack, so the bond holds in the field and not only at the station.

What makes Capital different from a commodity supplier?

Commodity manufacturers often sell their adhesives through distribution, with a ‘one size fits all’ approach. While Capital does has proven flagship formulas, we are also willing to match an adhesive to your specific needs. We connect you directly with people who know your process. Total cost of ownership, from waste to rework to downtime, is where a matched adhesive pays back.
