It's pretty simple...

We don’t ship freezable products* on Friday (Thursday if you are a 2 day transit) when your order will sit in a truck over the weekend and possibly be affected by freezing temperatures.

*This only applies to water based Resins as they are not freeze/thaw stable and will not re-emulsify once completely frozen. Dextrin products are freeze/thaw stable. Hot Melt is not affected by freezing temperatures.

IMPORTANT: Inspect all products received for damage or distress BEFORE accepting shipment.

Damaged or Distressed Products...

Should a product or container be suspect and considered “Damaged or Distressed Product”…

1) IMMEDIATELY INVESTIGATE FURTHER AND MAKE PROPER NOTATION ON SHIPPING RECORDS AT THE TIME OF RECEIPT.

2) INFORM THE CARRIER VERBALLY AND IN WRITING OF SUCH PRIOR TO THE CARRIER LEAVING YOUR DOCK AREA.

3) NOTIFY CAPITAL ADHESIVES IMMEDIATELY.

Minor cosmetic damage to a container should not be recorded and damage to soft goods boxes is considered cosmetic in most cases.

What to look for...

If product is suspected of being frozen, report/document as previously described and let it warm to room temperature. This requires multiple hours. Once at room temperature, inspect the product for coagulation (think cottage cheese).

If you see coagulation at room temperature, the product should not be used.

If you are not sure what you see, agitate/stir the product and test accordingly for proper bond characteristics. You might see ice crystals; sometimes these can be broken up and stirred back into a normal product. Your adhesive should be a smooth liquid.
